When you start a game you begin it with the Basic Gear. To unlock others which each have their own bonuses and looks complete the following tasks.

Basic Gear:
Default Gear.

Green Miles Gear:
Play 4 Songs (not including missions)

Twin Death Gear:
Reach Level 13.

PG-Black Gear:
Reach Level 23.

PGP Gear:
Reach Level 31.

Hello Pinky Gear:
Reach Level 39.

SummerTime Gear:
Clear 'Reverse Track' mission or play 1110 songs (not including missions).

Santa Gear:
Win 30 Network Battles or play 960 songs (not including missions).

NB RANGER Gear:
Get a combo of 30,000 in Freestyle or play 300 songs (not including missions).

Golden Gear:
Clear 'Score Attack' mission.

Mystic Forest:
Clear 'Mental Storm' Mission or play 840 songs (not including missions).

Winterstar Gear:
Get a combo of 69,000 in Freestyle or play 1530 songs (not including missions).

Ruby Spinel Gear:
Reach Level 47

Aqua Spinel Gear:
Reach Level 53

Puppy Gear:
Reach Level 63

Method Gear:
Win 50 Network Battles or play 1590 songs (not including missions).

White Gear:
Get a combo of 99,999 in Freestyle or play 2580 songs (not including missions).

Neonsign Gear:
Get a combo of 85,000 in Freestyle or play 2580 songs (not including missions).

Portable Gear:
Clear 'HeLLord' Mission or play 2340 songs (not including missions).

Alien Gear:
Reach Level 99
